The other day, I finished my work early and took a stroll outside as I made my way to Ulta. I was on a mission to pick up the Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 daily moisturizer after seeing it all over social media weeks prior.
I’m fairly new to the world of Ulta, seeing as I primarily grew up around Sephora. The only time I remember seeing an Ulta near me was shortly before moving from Seattle, WA, to Denver, CO a couple of years ago.
I’m still in Denver at the moment—albeit not for much longer—but I digress. The point is that there’s currently an Ulta in my backyard basically, and I’ve been checking it out a little bit now that Ulta is easily accessible for me.
Last time I was there, I grabbed the Pacifica vegan collagen eye cream as well as the dreamy youth day and night face cream! I purchased body oil from Dr. Teal’s as well, all of which are products I’ve been very happy with ever since.
But this time around, like I mentioned, I was on a mission to pick up the Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 daily moisturizer, though that’s not all that I bought.
If you’d like to see the rest of my Ulta skincare haul, allow me to introduce you to my YouTube channel! You can find a bunch of vlogs documenting my busy yet casual life as a writer, an editor, and a girl who loves the gym ♡
But the entire Ulta skincare haul aside, I was able to find the Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 daily moisturizer towards the back of the store. Here’s the price point for those of you who may be thinking about buying it for yourself!
I also picked up the miniature-sized Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen. But we’ll talk about that product another day! For now, here’s how I feel about this new skincare product after almost two weeks of using it!
The Pros of Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 Daily Moisturizer
Overall, this moisturizer is hands-down the best one I’ve tried so far… And I’ve tried quite a few! I have been searching high and low for a moisturizer that actually leaves my drier-than-dry skin feeling hydrated and rejuvenated. That’s a tall task, so I recognize that my standards are rather high, but Supergoop! has exceeded my expectations.
It’s thick and fluffy without being suffocating.
First and foremost, I love that Glowscreen is thick and fluffy without being suffocating. In other words, it has some substance to it, but it’s not like applying a paste-like product to your face. Instead, it reminds me of a whipped moisturizer, though I don’t think it is advertised as such… But it feels light and airy in a fluffy way, which I adore! I often find that moisturizers are too thin or far too thick, whereas this moisturizer by Supergoop! falls perfectly in the middle.
There’s isn’t a noticeable or irritating scent to the moisturizer.
I’m a sucker for scented products. I love good-smelling products, and I don’t often turn down anything with a lovely scent to it. However, when it comes to my face, I don’t explicitly seek out products with an aroma to them because I like to keep it simple. Plus, I worry that scented products might irritate the sensitive skin on my face, so I just steer clear of them as much as possible. Luckily for me and anyone else who prepares
The Cons of Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 Daily Moisturizer
I think it’s worth mentioning that neither of my two qualms with Glowscreen have to do with the product itself. Rather, the only cons I could think of are packaging-related! That’s gotta speak volumes, right?
The packaging is a little tricky.
I love the Glowscreen packaging to an extent. The exterior is simple yet eye-catching, and the way the top of the container spins off to reveal the moisturizer within is a lot of fun! However, the only change I’d recommend in that regard is the way it can be a bit difficult to take off the thin covering over the moisturizer. It’s nothing major, but sometimes, I find myself pulling the cover off and having it slip into the product or slide off in an unpredictable way.
It would be even better if it came with an applicator.
When I use the moisturizer, I find myself thinking, “You know what would make this incredible experience even better? An applicator of sorts!” Instead of dipping my finger directly into the product, it’d be neat if the moisturizer came with a brush of its own! However, this is a non-problem that a simple purchase can solve, so I grabbed a skincare application brush myself. It’s no biggie! And I wouldn’t consider this a dealbreaker by any means.
